The second quarter of 2026 has been a season of growth, celebration, and connection across The Evergreens Foundation. From exciting organizational milestones to vibrant resident programming, the past few months have reflected our ongoing commitment to creating welcoming communities where seniors can thrive.
A significant highlight this quarter is the grand opening of Kikinow Elders Lodge on June 18th. This milestone represents more than the addition of a new building – it reflects our continued dedication to providing safe, supportive, and affordable housing options for seniors and elders. Kikinow Elders Lodge will help strengthen community connections while providing residents with a place to call home for years to come.
Across our lodges, residents enjoyed a wide variety of activities designed to foster friendship, engagement, and lifelong learning. Spring celebrations brought communities together through Easter gatherings, Mother’s Day events, volunteer appreciation activities, musical performances, creative workshops, outings, and social events. Whether participating in a local excursion, enjoying live entertainment, or sharing time with neighbours, residents continued to build meaningful connections and lasting memories.
Supporting healthy aging remained a key focus throughout the quarter. Residents participated in wellness programming that included Tai Chi, strength and balance exercises, flexibility classes, seated sports, resistance training, and other activities designed to support independence and overall well-being. Participation remained strong, and residents consistently shared positive feedback about the impact these programs have on their quality of life.
This quarter also provided an opportunity to recognize the many volunteers who generously contribute their time, compassion, and energy to our communities. Their dedication enriches the lives of residents every day and plays an important role in creating the welcoming atmosphere that defines our lodges.
Behind the scenes, our teams continued investing in professional growth and organizational excellence. Staff members attended industry conferences, networking events, and educational sessions to strengthen their knowledge and bring new ideas back to our communities. Leadership teams also participated in strategic planning discussions focused on continuous improvement, collaboration, and preparing the Foundation for future growth.
We were also proud to celebrate employee achievements through our Long Service Awards and Retirement Gala, recognizing team members whose dedication and service have helped shape The Evergreens Foundation over the years. Their commitment reflects the culture of care, respect, and excellence that supports our residents and communities every day.
As we look ahead to the second half of 2026, we remain grateful for the residents, families, employees, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who make our work possible. Together, we continue building vibrant communities where seniors can live with dignity, independence, and a true sense of belonging.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
